Fort Worth Kids Nature Club

We believe in the magic of nature as the ultimate playground for explorers of all ages. Our mission is to foster a deep connection between children, their families and the natural world around them.

We'd love to have like-minded families join our outings, families that let their children engage in risky play, like to get a little muddy, and live by the motto, "there's no such thing as bad weather."

We hope to meet in nature spaces in and around Fort Worth on a regular basis, whether monthly or weekly as schedules allow.

Our last meetup was a 3 mile hike at the @fwnaturecenter. It was a beautiful day and we enjoyed seeing moss, lichen, lots of fossils, animal prints and scat 😅

I think the lesson from today was to keep going until you find what you're looking for. The trail we were planning for wasn't quite what we expected, but the kids were rewarded with playground time. And those that kept going found the nature we were
We joined the Manly Men Wild Women New Years Day Hike at Tandy Hills with no expectations for finishing the 2 mile hike and, yet, all attendees (ranging from age 3 to 40s) made it to the end. It was an incredible way to start the year. @tandyhillsnat
November FWKNC meetup was at Airfield Falls, where we played in the water and documented our finds in our new nature journals. We saw turtles, minnows and tiny toads.
Our first Fort Worth Kids Nature Club meetup was at the Trinity Park, and we played in the stream, found frogs, insects, and minnows.
